I started handylittleme in 2008 as a side project next to my teaching job.
My degree is in Textiles and Surface Design, which I completed in 2003. I enjoyed printmaking, illustration and stitch. Gradually moving into knitting and crochet later on.
I do love knitting and being creative, so as well as teaching Art and Design full time I was passionate about designing and making my own work.
I have taught on various courses which include; FDA Textiles and Surface Pattern (19+) at Newcastle College, before moving to the Sixth Form (2007-2011) where I taught A-Level (16+) – Graphic Design, Fine Art, Textile Design and the International Baccalaureate – Visual Arts. From there I progressed to Head of Art and Design at Stockton Sixth Form College (2011-2014).
I have been actively involved in many knitting club enrichments and yarn bombing on college campus!
I have recently moved to Corfu, Greece where I am continuing to work on handylittleme and other projects.
I have always been interested in design and crafts and now have the freedom to explore a more creative life.
