The Local Taste came about after blogging about various things the past few years and deciding to focus my blog. I am learning to cook healthy meals for my husband and I, and this is a place I can share my cooking endeavors. Most of the recipes I share are healthy, but I will occasionally throw in a splurge recipe because I love sweets! I love to use fresh/local ingredients whenever they are available. I much prefer farmers’ markets to big grocery stores. There’s just something fun about buying your produce from the person who grew it. After taking a photography class last semester I’ve also grown to love food photography, so this is a place where I can also try out new photography skills.
I recently decided to become a Vegetarian, so all of my recipes are meat-free. I am not Vegan or gluten-free, but I often share recipes that are fit for people with special diets. I find food inspiration in cookbooks, food blogs, and I often randomly mix ingredients to see what happens. Sometimes the result is good (and I share) and sometimes it’s a disaster! ha
Not only do I enjoy using local ingredients when I cook I also have a love for local restaurants, and here in Nashville we have an abundance of amazing local places to choose from. I love sharing my favorite places to eat in Nashville.
I’m also a huge 90’s sitcom fan! I make references to Full House and Friends quite often.
